Undergrads Present in BME Undergraduate Research Symposium

Zoldan Group undergraduates Madhavi, Priyanka, Alexandra, and Karl presented their research posters during the BME Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Madhavi Nambair, “Effect of protein synthesis rate on drug resistance in multiple myeloma cells”
Priyanka Deshpande, “Construction of bioartificial organs using pluripotent and naïve stem cells”
Alexandra Dugger, “Electrospining and melt spinning of fibrous matrices”
Karl Solomon, “Hydrogel polymer libraries for developing induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiac patches”

Great presentations everybody, and congratulations on a great semester of research!

Presentations at BMES 2014

The Zoldan Group attended the Biomedical Engineering Society meeting in San Antonio, TX and Alicia, Chengyi, and Alysa presented their posters:

Alicia Allen, “PEGylated Fibrin Biomaterials for Cardiomyocyte Culture”
Chengyi Tu, “Monitoring Protein Synthesis in Live Multiple Myeloma Cells”
Alysa Joaquin, “Hydrogel Polymer Libraries for Developing Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Derived Cardiac Patches”

Zoldan Group attends Texas Biomaterials Day

The Zoldan Group attended Texas Biomaterials Day, held at the National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing at Texas A&M University. Dr. Zoldan gave the concluding lecture of the day, titled “Engineering the Differentiation of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells.” Biomaterials day is an annual, one-day conference featuring guest speakers from academia, medicine, and industry. The poster session features students from Texas A&M University, Rice University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
